Amazon.com Product Description Now you can groove to your favorite tunes, rain or shine. Yamaha's NS-AW350W bookshelf speakers are perfect for deck or porch placement, delivering punchy bass and even, extended treble in just about any desired location. You can bring them in during the cold months and set them up indoors, too: their high build quality and good sound lend them equally well to two-channel indoor listening. The speakers, which are sold as a pair, each use a 6.5-inch high-compliance, polypropylene, mica-filled woofer and 1-inch PEI dome tweeter. The drivers are optimized for high rigidity but low mass, giving them high sensitivity (87 dB with 2.83V at 1 meter), another way of saying they're easily driven by modest amplifiers. Their acoustic-suspension cabinets are sealed to prevent undue resonance or tubby, tuneless bass, which often results from low-cost ported designs. With a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, the speakers will work nicely with amplifiers up to 40 watts per channel, nominal, or 130 watts, peak power. They boast a frequency response of 55 to 40,000 Hz (+/-3 dB), giving you reasonably full bass for their size and unusually extended high-frequency response for your most demanding digital media. The speakers are magnetically shielded, so you can place them on or near a TV or video monitor without fear of picture degradation from their magnetic fields. Five-way binding posts simplify connection with several different terminations of speaker cable (including banana plugs), and the NS-AW350Ws even come with two lengths of cable to get you started. While you wouldn't want to leave the speakers exposed on, say, the deck of a boat, they are water resistant and designed to withstand light wind and rain--a benefit of their sealed enclosures and rugged metal grilles. The speakers come with mounting bases and brackets. What's in the Box Two speakers, two lengths of speaker cable, speaker bases, mounting brackets, a warranty card, and a user's manual.

Big sound & size April 17, 2010 pool boy (SOCAL) What others say is true, these speakers are large, test mount before you run wires and drill holes. Sound quality is fine for outdoors. No need to crank up the volume to fill the yard with music.
great speakers at great value April 16, 2010 Cody Bergener (codyb52) these speaker look great in white and have a surprisingly good volume and bass. very happy with them.
Great speakers, good price February 3, 2010 J. Bekemeyer We use these on our back patio. They produce plenty of volume and have good sound separation.
Best speakers for the price January 18, 2010 Lawrence Lau (California, USA) I purchased a pair few years ago and I just love it! The sound quality is even better than the JBL same grade model that I got for indoors/outdoors, which I'm quite surprised.
For about $100, I'm impressed for the sound quality. I would say perhaps Bose might have a model better than this Yamaha, if someone wants to spend $300 or so.
Great Sound at a Great Price! November 13, 2009 Roger Tate (New Albany, MS USA) I've had these speakers outside for use on my deck for about 9 months now. I am completely pleased with my purchase. The sound quality is great, especially for the $85 I paid. Just be aware of the size when ordering. These are not the tiny little satellite speakers that you sometimes see used for outdoor speakers underneath the eaves of a house. They are full size speakers which contributes to the very respectable amount of bass response that they are capable of. I have very wide eaves on my house so this was not an issue. 4 stars because there are better sounding speakers out there if you are willing to pay a lot more for them. On the "Bang for Your Buck" scale these definitely rate 5 stars.
