Expand your wireless audio horizon July 14, 2010 R. Adams (Hawaii) Perfect companion/expansion speaker for the Audio Unlimited basic transmitter/wireless speaker package. Great audio quality and portability. Like the speakers that come with the main system, power can be set to turn off if no signal is received in several minutes. However, also like the other speakers, the remote cannot turn the speaker power on once it has shut off.
This Add-On Speaker is easy to use. June 28, 2010 Linda We already had the original two speakers but needed another one so that my husband could listen to the TV in his study, so I gave him this add-on speaker for Father's Day. He really likes it.
Very Good Product June 13, 2010 Donald M. Weinstein (Northern Virginia) I recently purchased these speakers through amazon.com and have been quite pleased with their performance. I wanted a way to listen to music in my backyard when company is over. In the past, I would run a cable into the house and mount a speaker, but that was difficult to do, and the speaker would eventually rust away. These wireless speakers serve the same purpose, but without the hassle of cabling.
As previous reviews have mentioned, they are extremely easy to set up. (1) Just plug them into a wall outlet, or put batteries into them (I am using wall outlets). (2) Plug the transmitter into a wall outlet. (3) Connect the transmitter to any audio device that has a headphone jack. (4) Start the music playing from your audio device. (5) Go back to each speaker, turn them on, and adjust the volume. If you can't hear anything, or the sound is fuzzy, press the tune button on the speaker until the sound quality is good. That's it--figure 5-10 minutes setup time the first time you use them, and less once you've used them before.
When you're finished listening, you can either leave the speakers outside (they are water resistant), or bring them back inside (which is what I do).
A couple of notes: if you're using an iPod as the music source, be sure to turn up the volume to almost the top end. Also, check the position of the speakers to ensure that they are within range of the transmitter. Also, despite the fact that you receive two speakers, you're not hearing true stereo. Final caution, while the speakers are water resistant, the AC adapter isn't, and should not be left out in nasty weather.
But, with all of those cautions aside, if you're simply looking for background music (as I was), or want to hear a game while sitting outside, these speakers work great.
Work well April 11, 2010 Robin Brown We got these speakers for outdoor deck use. We've now used them a few times and they are working out great. I have only used the AC power, not tried with batteries so I can't speak to the battery life. We have it hooked up to our receiver inside and the speakers are a couple of walls away outside on the deck. Reception is crystal clear.
wireless speakers March 30, 2010 F. Lucero (denver) these speakers emit sound... and that's about it. they have good volume, but the bass is almost non-existent. the quality of the sound from the regular speakers is of low quality. it doesn't sound as good as my old LG computer speakers, but they are more powerful. the remote is quite handy. i will not return them despite this. I'll probably get a hold of a wireless subwoofer to accompany them. Also, the range on them is good. The 900 mhz transmitter goes through regular drywalls and even through brick. Easy set up. Just plug them in. One complaint is that the transmitter doesn't pick up the sound from the computer (i have a macbook with os x) for about 4-5 seconds. When it doesn't pick up the sound either because there is no sound, or the volume is very very low, it just shuts off and waits for a volume it can detect.
